Brent represents clients in connection with commercial and business disputes with a focus on construction litigation. He also assists client in real estate transactions, mechanics liens, foreclosures, debt collections, personal injury defense, and evictions. Brent is a native of central Texas and after graduating law school, worked for a boutique law firm for eight years representing commercial contractors and business clients in general litigation, transactional matters and advising those clients on various legal issues, business operations and entity structuring.
Construction Litigation
Represented residential real estate developer against general contractor in multi-party case in which general contractor was alleged by home buyers to have negligently constructed homes.
Successfully removed invalid liens via lawsuit for developer that were illegally filed by fraudulent ex-contractor.
Represented multiple general contractors and subcontractors in residential construction liability act cases with alleged breach of contract.
Business Law
Formed a multitude of varying entity types (LLCs, PLLCs, Corporations, 501(c)3 and (c)4), advised as to corporate structure and established company agreements for a diverse variety of commercial clients.
Real Estate Law
Represented developers in multitude of foreclosures and evictions of defaulting borrowers and tenants.
Drafted hundreds of deeds and other various instruments for real estate transactions, conveyances and contracts in both residential and commercial contexts.
Advised and drafted section on Manufactured Housing requirements for State Bar of Texas Foreclosure Manual.
General Litigation
Successfully resolved two year old judgment against manufactured home dealer after sheriff execution on business with a Bill of Review to force Plaintiff to settlement in lieu of granting new trial.
