J. Parker Short

Associate

Mr. Short concentrates his practice in insurance defense, premises liability, contract law, and complex personal injury lawsuits. He also has extensive experience defending regulatory, compliance, and malpractice matters. Mr. Short has managed every phase of litigation, from the pre-suit stage through appellate briefing, and has a proven track record in handling intricate civil and administrative matters.

In 2022 Mr. Short received his Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law with cum laude honors accompanied by a certificate in healthcare law. During his time in Mississippi, he served in multiple leadership roles, including serving as the Senator for the Law Student Bar Association, Ambassador for the Health Law Society, Ambassador to the Dean, and Treasurer and Secretary of the Military Justice Society.

Prior to his legal career in Texas, Mr. Short gained significant practical legal experience while working for the general counsel of the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He also served as a limited practicing attorney at a Veterans Legal Clinic, where he engaged with clients and addressed a wide range of civil matters and military affairs.

In addition to his law degree, Mr. Short’s academic background in the sciences, holding a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Mississippi, provides him with a strong analytical foundation that allows him to approach complex legal issues with a thorough understanding of both scientific principles and the legal framework.
