Kimberley L. Doom
Ms. Doom’s litigation experience includes personal injury, insurance defense, transportation, construction liability and defects, premises liability, products liability, medical malpractice, professional liability, commercial business, DPTA and employment law. She has performed appellate work in both the Texas Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
The Texas Lawyer and Verdict Search recognized Ms. Doom for obtaining a Top Texas Verdict in 2012. The recognition was for her role as lead attorney in a Tarrant County, Texas case that resulted in the sixth-highest intentional torts jury verdict in the State of Texas in 2012.
While in law school, Ms. Doom was a member of the Health Law Moot Court Team and completed over 85 hours of mediation training. Her mediation training contributes to her ability to creatively bring parties together by narrowing the issues, identify areas of agreement, advocate for her client and use a common-sense approach to navigate through parties’ emotions and financial concerns.
Ms. Doom is an experienced litigator with a unique ability of keeping an eye on the complexity of the bigger picture, while putting all the smaller pieces together to successfully build a case. She focuses on effective communications and building relationships with clients while developing a case so that important details are never overlooked.

Representative Experience
- Obtained a jury verdict which included punitive damages in a case where bar bouncers assaulted a patron resulting in the sixth highest intentional torts jury verdict in the State of Texas in 2012.
- Obtained the dismissal of a medical malpractice claim against a physician where Plaintiff tried to argue she did not have a health care liability claim because the physician committed the intentional tort of assault.
- Obtained a favorable defense verdict where Plaintiff was awarded $12,900 (an amount less than her medical expenses). In this automobile case Plaintiff sought an amount in excess of $235,000 to which liability was stipulated by prior counsel and the defendant was not present at trial due to incarceration.
- Served as second chair in a trial where a favorable defense verdict was obtained in a premises liability case. Plaintiff sought an award of $296,000 plus punitive damages but was found to be 30% liable for her injuries and awarded only $11,200.
- Favorable settlement of an automobile accident in plaintiff friendly Cameron County resulting in a small cost of defense settlement where the Plaintiff sought an amount in excess of past medical damages totaling $90,000.
- Favorable cost of defense settlement of an automobile accident in Bexar County where Plaintiff obtained a settlement from her own insurance company through uninsured motorist coverage and then aggressively pursued Defendants individually for intentional torts seeking the removal of the cap on exemplary damages by alleging a violation of the penal code by using a vehicle as a deadly weapon.
- Favorable settlement for approximately half of the policy limits in a commercial trucking case where there was clear liability and the Defendant driver of an 18- wheeler pled guilty to driving while intoxicated at the time of the accident.
