Mr. Connally is a trial attorney with experience in complex litigation involving several areas of the law, including premises and products liability, first- and third-party insurance defense, and personal injury/fatality claims. Since 2004, he has successfully defended numerous individuals and companies, including small businesses, insurance companies, shipyards, restaurants, hotels, nightclubs, manufacturers, and trucking and heavy equipment companies. Mr. Connally has occasionally been called upon to provide emergency, rapid-response legal services in crisis situations, including coordinating with and assisting clients with their internal accident investigations, as well as their communications with OSHA and other governmental entities. He possesses a proven ability to navigate complex disputes involving multiple parties, claims, and legal issues. In doing so, he has handled all aspects of litigation, including the discovery process, depositions, motion practice, case evaluation, mediation, trial preparation, and trial. He is licensed in all Texas state courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas and the Southern District of Texas, where his grandfather and namesake once presided as Chief Judge.

Mr. Connally earned his J.D. at the University of Texas School of Law, where he served on the Texas International Law Journal and as the Law Student Division Chair of the Texas State Bar. He received his B.A. in history, summa cum laude, with minors in philosophy and political science, from the University of St. Thomas, completing over 140 credit-hours in 3½ years. During his time at UST, he represented his fellow students as a student senator and as Vice President of the Student Government Association. Prior to his higher education, Mr. Connally served as a United States Marine in the states of California, Virginia, Georgia, and North Carolina, and spent time overseas in Japan and Australia. He received several honors during his service, including being named Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter for 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment in the first quarter of 1997.

Community Activities

Mr. Connally grew up in Houston and remains active in the community, particularly with his undergraduate alma mater. He has served on its Alumni Association Board of Directors, Athletics Advisory Council, and Student Activity Fee Allocations Task Force. He has held memberships in the Houston Mariners Club and the UST and UT Attorney Alumni Associations. He also has frequently performed in “Night Court,” the all-lawyer musical comedy show that raises money for local charities. Additionally, he is an Eagle Scout.
