March 2, 2024 is the deadline for covered employers to electronically submit Form 300A data from 2023 to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Under OSHA’s new requirements, establishments with 100 or more employees in designated industries are required to submit Form 300A data. This form summarizes all recordable work-related injuries and illnesses entered on last year’s OSHA 300 Log and 301 Incident Report forms. Form 300A data, including the date of the injury or illness, physical location, illness or injury severity, details about the worker affected, and details about how the injury or illness occurred, must be submitted using OSHA’s Injury Tracking Application (ITA). Establishments who had a peak employment of 100 or more employees last year meet the size requirement, even if they no longer have 100 employees. Note that covered employers are required to complete a timely online report even if no reportable injuries or illnesses occurred in 2023.
These requirements apply to establishments covered by Federal OSHA as well as those covered by states with their own occupational safety and health programs.
